PAM INC.
Synopsis
In a world where memory meets exploitation, "PAM Inc." follows the story of Winston, a chronically forgetful father who decides to try a mysterious service called Perpetual Access Memory that promises "an elephant's memory." After placing his head into a strange wall device, Winston is transformed into a vacant-eyed, zombie-like figure who disappears into the night.
His resourceful daughter Julia, accompanied by her pet mouse Musa, notices her father's absence and sets out to find him. Following Musa's insatiable appetite for peanuts, she infiltrates the imposing PAM Inc. headquarters where she discovers the horrifying truth: a captive elephant with an abnormally large brain is being used to control human minds, turning citizens into energy generators in massive running wheels. Behind this operation are robots disguised as hooded figures, harvesting human energy to power themselves.
As Julia finds her father trapped in this system, she must use her wits, courage, and the unexpected alliance between Musa and the terrified elephant to overthrow the robots' control and save not only her father but all the mind-controlled humans before it's too late.

Mission
"PAM Inc." aims to deliver a powerful message about technology's potential to exploit rather than serve humanity. Through its imaginative narrative, the film explores contemporary concerns about artificial intelligence, corporate control, and technological dependency in a format accessible to younger audiences.
The story serves as an allegory for how easily we surrender our autonomy in exchange for convenience, highlighting the dangers of unchecked technological advancement and the corporate exploitation of resources—both natural and human. The film emphasizes the importance of questioning what we're being sold and understanding the true cost of technological "solutions" to human problems.
By contrasting the innocent relationship between Julia and Musa with the exploitative relationship between the robots and humans, "PAM Inc." advocates for technology that enhances rather than diminishes humanity. The film champions critical thinking, family bonds, and respect for all living beings as counterforces to technological overreach.
About the film
"PAM Inc." is an animated film written by Ole Christoffer Haga. The film combines traditional animation techniques with surrealist elements to create its distinctive visual style, particularly evident in the psychedelic sequence depicting Winston's subjective experience of receiving the PAM implant.
The film features distinctive character designs including geometric human figures with minimalist facial features, an oversized-headed elephant, an expressive mouse, and menacing robots disguised in hooded clothing. The animation employs a muted color palette with occasional vibrant highlights, particularly during scenes in the robots' "Progress Bar" club and during electrical effects.
The production incorporates varying animation styles—from fluid movement sequences to more stylized, mechanical motions for the mind-controlled humans. The film's sound design integrates basstung club music, electrical buzzing, and the distinctive trumpeting of the elephant to create an immersive audio atmosphere that complements its visual storytelling.
"PAM Inc." skillfully balances humor, suspense, and social commentary in a compact narrative that appeals to both children and adults, featuring a triumphant storyline about family connection and the power of unlikely friendships overcoming technological tyranny.
